Boss Chicks in Black Romance [Part 2]
Black girls. Black women. We are magic. We are strong. We are some of the fiercest bosses out there. Every now and then I come across a boss chick who makes her presence known, like “Blaw Tadow, Watch Out Now” in the words of the Original Queen Bee. And since y’all loved the first list so much, I figured it was time for a new one!

Disney Goes Bookish, E-Book Stack
I saw a fun book stack featured on #Bookstagram and decided to join in. While the books on this list aren’t Disney-related, Disney characteristics did inspire each choice. Keep reading to see my Disney-inspired “book stack’.

Book Review: Gravity by AshleyNicole
Date Read: January 30, 2022
Published: December 30, 2021
Pages: 244
Book Synopsis:
Something always brings me back to you…
Cevyn has more responsibility on her shoulders than should be legal. It’s fine because she was built for this. She’s the strong one, and she’ll carry the world on her shoulders alone if it means her sister is okay.
Cevyn and Kas have been jumping in and out of each other’s beds for years. Up to now, they’ve enjoyed a string and love-free affiliation. No matter what happens, though, they always end up back in each other’s beds.
Tragedy strikes, and she’s no longer able to bear the brunt of the world alone. Suddenly, her friend with benefits is starting to look like her knight in shining armor. Can they help each other through this dark, painful time and come out the other side as something more?
My Review:
Cevyn, Ayte…. Nyn, Tyn.
Never did I imagine a book would hit me as hard as Broken Clocks by Danielle Allen… but then I read this beautiful work of art. I put off reading this book once I read early reviews, because I knew as an empath it would rock me to my core. It’s hard to put into words all of the emotions I felt reading this story. But before I try… ASHLEY. YOU 👏🏾 DID 👏🏾 THAT 👏🏾.
Ayte was a superwoman. Cevyn was vibranium. Kas was a universe of peace. Both of them. Opal was an angel sent from above. Omere was beautiful. Both of them. These characters touched my soul. Even as I write this review with red, puffy eyes, I know I’ll visit them again.

Book Review: Just a Friend by AshleyNicole
Date Read: September 27, 2021
Published: July 2, 2021
Pages: N/A
Book Synopsis:
Oh baby, you…
Being the only girl in a group of guys is hard work. It’s the equivalent to having multiple fathers who think they can dictate every detail of your life.
Harlowe’s been dealing with it for years, but as of late, she’s been wanting to venture out and find love. As expected, the guys think this is a terrible idea. That’s all well and good, but Harlowe is going to do it anyway.
Before she can, one of her guys starts looking at her differently, and she can’t help but look back.
Will they transition into lovers, or will he remain just a friend?
My Review:
I’ve had this on TBR list for so long and I’m so upset it took me this long to get to it! I loved everything about this book and the characters. The dynamics of each relationship was more than enjoyable to read. I loved the way they loved each other, for the most part lol but I don’t do spoilers so you’ll have to read to see what I mean. I highlighted all up and through this read, because there were so many great moments of laughter and pure affection woven into each page. I will say, I’ve never been so affected by the word “yo” in my life 😂
Book Review: A Sweet Heart: a Hale girls novella by Ashley Nicole

Book Synopsis:
Showing up to a meeting late is the easiest way to get on her hit list. Insulting his masculinity is the quickest way to get on his. They both come out swinging, but get hit with something neither was anticipating: Love
My Review:
Well damn. I feel like I can’t say what I want to say because it’s too inappropriate lol. I will say Ashley did that! Enjoy this quick read and hopefully you have someone to take the enjoyment out on hint hint. 😂
