I want a lover and a best friend, so I guess that’s why this trope speaks so heavily to my heart. There’s so much involved in writing these stories. You get to that point where it’s like, okay so are y’all going to get together or nah!? Watching characters come to the realization that the person they love most is right there, and they know you better than anyone else. The chemistry is off the charts, because duh that’s your best friend. But the characters don’t always see it, yet everyone else in their circle is making bets on when it will finally happen. One of the biggest factors, the fear of ruining one of your most important relationships because of a slight crush develops somewhere down the line. Watching them realize that the romance adds to the friendship and seeing it all come together is the sweetest relief.
