Book Synopsis:

“Because sometimes all it takes is the first date…”

For Malinda Woods, growing her business is a top priority. And in her opinion, that’s only possible if she eliminates all distractions.

That means no going out, no getting caught up in the daily hype of social media, and of course, no dating. Until she’s set up on a blind date with the perfect man who’s equipped with everything necessary to change her mind.

Whoa.

Note: This novella takes place during the same time frame as Oops! and does contain major spoilers for that title. It is highly recommended that you read Oops! first before going on Malinda’s journey. 🙂

My Review:

Alex does a bomb job of making me wish I was in the leading lady’s shoes. Usually it’s simply tied to the fine ass men they luckily get paired with, however this time with Mali was so much more. Mali was a Boss, emphasis on the capital B. I loved how hard she worked to make sure her business and her brand was a success. She wanted her own wins and she refused to ride her mother’s coattails.

Now, Walter. I never thought someone with a name that sounds as if they were born 60 years old could turn me on. Walter was absolutely Whoa. He was everything you want in a grown man. Upfront and unafraid to let his intentions be known. His listening skills and ability to pay attention to the smallest details turned me into putty. Welcome to the book bae club DJ Whoa.

I love that although this was a novella, we got a complete story and I wasn’t left hanging. And the chemistry between Mali and Walter was off the charts. And it was refreshing to read a story where there were no outside forces creating a wedge between the main characters. Just a bout of self-reflection that we all need from time to time.

Alex never fails to deliver a relatable body of work. And that’s an amazing gift that we all, thankfully, get to benefit from.

With all of that being said, READ THIS. I already want to pick it up and read it again.
